Sniper: Homeland Security: Directed by Claudio Fäh. With Chad Michael Collins, Danay Garcia, Billy Zane, Tom Berenger. For the first time, Brandon Beckett, Richard Miller and Sgt. Thomas Beckett join forces in Colombia to take down a brutal drug cartel.

“An American action-thriller. The seventh film in the Sniper film series. It features all three of the recurring characters: U.S. Marine Sgt Brandon Beckett, Thomas Beckett, a former Mastery Gunnery Sgt of Force Reconnaissance Scout Snipers in U.S. Marine Corps, and his former protege Richard Miller, now a Marine Corps Major.nA Colombian drug kingpin pays a murderous gang sniper to kill his enemies. Brandon Beckett is re-assigned to Columbia to hunt both of them down, with the help of a DEA agent who has been following the drug lord for years.nWhile this is a generic actioner and without a lot of originality, the action is quite absorbing. The script is mediocre and there are scenes of gratuitous sex and gore which bring it down a few notches in credibility. There is a drive to make a point about the mental health of military snipers but it only skirts the surface and then abandons it. Some tension between father and son is suggested, but the tension is neither explored nor brought to bear on the substance of the action and it barely resolves it amidst all the testosterone in the air. The film is one for followers of the series because the backstories are not explained or referenced like the earlier films. Nevertheless, solid action keep the viewersu0026#39; attention throughout, and an array of quirky villains makes it interesting.”
