Slaughter Creek: Directed by Brian Skiba, Liam Owen. With Justin Henry, Jose Rosete, Laurie Love, Aja Pollock. In February of 2006, a documentary film crew from Dallas, Texas followed a young woman as she began her career in the porn industry. By March, she had disappeared.

“Slaughter Creek was filmed in the Austin area for $1,000,000. Didnu0026#39;t make their budget in theater gross, but I suspect theyu0026#39;ll do well in streaming and DVD and whatever is yet to come. Better than Blair Witch which jolted the genera into mainstream consciousness. Head and shoulders above Tiny Furniture (whatu0026#39;s the big deal about that anyway — I guess I donu0026#39;t get it). u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI was particularly impressed with SCu0026#39;s visual effects and cinematography; although I could have done without some of those gratuitous bouncing images and other goofy u0026quot;low-techu0026quot; shots (I presume most of them were gratuitous). That last lingering u0026quot;pictureu0026quot; in the police interview surely said half again more than a thousand words. Goldfish (previous review) missed the boat not seeing the ending. Itu0026#39;s worth sitting through the whole discombobulating thing to see that one shot.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIu0026#39;m gonna take another look at Slaughter Creek knowing now that it was unscripted! The actors were apparently told what a scene was supposed to do and what they could and could not say (for legal reasons) — then they just winged it. Surely as good as Boys Life 6, which got the director the job doing The Ruins(way to go!) u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis director knows how to make a movie (heu0026#39;s experienced). This casting director knows how to cast, etc. etc. I figure weu0026#39;ll see these actors — and probably anybody who had anything to do with this production again. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWell worth a peek.”
