Against the Night: Directed by Brian Cavallaro. With Brandon E. Brooks, Josh Cahn, Jason Gill, Leah Holleran. A group of friends sneak into an abandoned prison with the intention of making a ghost hunting video, until they start to go missing one by one.

“For a low budget modern horror movie, the production quality is great, the acting is good enough, and the premise works. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhere does it go wrong then?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eFirst, itu0026#39;s not scary. There is no suspense and the movie takes itself seriously, so there should be some.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSecond, the death sequences are dry and lame. The screen will go black and someone will randomly go missing. Thatu0026#39;s it. No payoff, no terror. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThird, they rely on the found footage aspect when itu0026#39;s not needed. The a/v is well done otherwise and this does not make it more effective. The majority of the movie ends up being a plain black screen about 25 minutes in.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis could have been successful, but falls completely flat.”
