Fu gui ji xiang (1991)
37KFu gui ji xiang: Directed by Stephen Shin. With George Lam, Maggie Cheung, Jacky Cheung, Vivian Chow. George Lam is a famous conductor, Maggie Cheung an auto-mechanic; he rides a portable bicycle, she a motorcycle.
“This is a fairly warped HK comedy about a conductor named Koo (George Lam) who comes back to Hong Kong to perform. Along with annoying relatives, he also meets up with petty thieves Jacky and Philldonna. Jackyu0026#39;s sister is Carrie, played by the always engaging Maggie Cheung. Koo and Carrie meet and though their getting together is somewhat illogical it still happens. Also in the film is the recently departed Lydia Shum, who plays Philldonnau0026#39;s mom Madonna (a cute idea). This film isnu0026#39;t bad, it just gets annoying at times. They should have kept the Jacky/Philldonna stuff to a minimum and made the Koo/Carrie romance much more prominent. This is slapstick with not enough romantic comedy. Worth watching because George Lam, Maggie Cheung and Lydia Shum are always worth watching, but the film once in a while gets on your nerves.”
