Despite the police’s preemptive strike, the illegal coast-to-coast car race is still on with new drivers. It’s a race where fair play, red lights, stop signs, police roadblocks and traffic rules in general have no validity.

“I read that u0026quot;Speed Zone!u0026quot; is a semi-addition to the u0026quot;Cannonball Runu0026quot; movies; I donu0026#39;t know those at all, so I just have to take the movie at face value. Itu0026#39;s basically another flick in the wacky race genre – others include u0026quot;Itu0026#39;s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Worldu0026quot; and u0026quot;The Gumball Rallyu0026quot; – a litany of silliness for sillinessu0026#39;s sake. I didnu0026#39;t derive any hidden meaning or anything (even u0026quot;IAMMMMWu0026quot; was all about greed). Totally pointless, I guess. Sort of an excuse to have a bunch of stars. There were some funny scenes, but not enough to merit any real recognition. The cast members have all done better than this. Starring John Candy, Donna Dixon, Peter Boyle, Shari Belafonte, Tom Smothers, Dick Smothers and Brooke Shields.”
