Männertrip (2010)
39KMännertrip: Directed by Nicholas Stoller. With Russell Brand, Rose Byrne, Tyler McKinney, Zoe Salmon. A record company intern is hired to accompany out-of-control British rock star Aldous Snow to a concert at L.A.’s Greek Theater.
“This is Nicholas Stolleru0026#39;s first mainstream film in which he both wrote and directed, exploring the highu0026#39;s and lows of Jason Segalu0026#39;s Forgetting Sarah Marshallu0026#39;s character u0026quot;Aldous Snowu0026quot;. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAldous Snow is the controversial, alcoholic, drug addict rock star stereotype played by Russell Brand. He does it well and leaves us with a strong and convincing performance, but then Itu0026#39;s hard to criticise his acting when he for the most part just plays himself, and to that point he does it well as always. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe story-line is basic but strong, and doesnu0026#39;t skimp on the laughs… or the nauseating, leaving the theater in stitches and disgust several times throughout. It takes you on a journey of the highs and lows of life as a rock star, the publicly glorified side and the more somber, touching on the loneliness and struggles with relapse. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt flew by fast and felt squashed at the end, the resolution was a tad jammed and left me slightly disappointed, but iu0026#39;ll be watching it again. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIf you liked the hangover, youu0026#39;ll defiantly like this.”
