The Half-Life of Genius Physicist Raemer Schreiber: Directed by Jared Brandon-Flande, John Webb. With Jake Hecla, Roger Meade, Richard Rhodes, Ben Saunders. Schreiber was one of Oppenheimer’s brilliant young physicists recruited for the Manhattan Project during World War II. He was entrusted to carry the Plutonium core to Tinian Island where he’d assemble the atomic bomb known to history as “Fatman”. In the mid-fifties, he was selected to lead the American effort to build powerful nuclear rocket engines in the secrecy of the Nevada desert just miles from the infamous Area 51. The film includes Interviews with Los Alamos historian Roger Meade and Pulitzer Prize-winning Richard Rhodes. As well, nuclear physicist Taylor Wilson and nuclear engineer Carl Willis discuss Schreiber’s “rocket science” with project ROVER. The film contains rare footage, artifacts, photos and audio recordings not seen or heard outside of family for decades. Some consider Schreiber atomic royalty. This is his story.

“Netflix has been doing a pretty solid job at serial-killer documentaries and this one falls under the u0026#39;fairly okayu0026#39; category. The core story of Dennis Nilsenu0026#39;s crimes is interesting with some unpredictable layers, however, the recalling style lacks a finite flow. The deeper you get into Nilsenu0026#39;s life journey, the less engrossing it gets. What intrigues is the manner in which heu0026#39;s caught, the articulate person that he is on the tapes, and also some of the survivorsu0026#39; accounts. The homosexual angle is given somewhat less footing here but itu0026#39;s also carefully and respectfully put across. I would have also loved to see more interviews with people who worked alongside Nilsen to get a better insight of how he was publicly perceived. It may also have shed additional light on how he was able to keep his cover for such a long time. At 1h 24m, this oneu0026#39;s relatively short and crisp. What astonishes me is that we still donu0026#39;t know the identities of half of his victims.”
