Brexitannia: Directed by Timothy George Kelly. With Federico Campagna, Noam Chomsky, Heidi Mirza, Saskia Sassen. A sociological portrait of the United Kingdom after the historic Brexit vote of 2016. A funny, sometimes terrifying and non-judgemental look at the new populist politics sweeping western democracies.

“1) This film utterly ignores history. There have been concerned and resistance to full on integration under the EU super-government umbrella from the common market, EEC, EU and Eurozone. It is nothing new or some kind of bright line, but a long process based continuum.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e2) Apparently only leavers can be populist? We saw socialist populist governments for decades in Greece, in Italy, in Spain, even Scandinavian countries, but thta kind of insanely irresponsible u0026quot;populismu0026quot; is ok as long as it is left oriented?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e3) Only Brexit proponents (leavers) make misstatements? Fact checking websites have shown that the remainers make as many false, idiotic, irrational statements as well.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e4) No mention is made of the fact that the remains tend to have direct self interest. In fact most of the u0026quot;expertsu0026quot; cited at the end of the film work for institution with direct interest in remaining. it is unethical not to note their interest.”
