“Taking place immediately after the u0026quot;Rugratsu0026quot; episode u0026quot;The Family Treeu0026quot; where Didi finds out sheu0026#39;s pregnant. u0026quot;The Rugrats Movieu0026quot; is when Tommyu0026#39;s new sibling is finally born. The Rugrats are very excited about Tommyu0026#39;s new sister, but when the baby is finally born, itu0026#39;s a boy. Baby Dil practically does nothing, but cry, scream, and poop. Tommy thinks he can take him back to the hospital in exchange for a new baby brother, but soon they all get lost in the woods. This is their first time in actual danger, not just their imaginations.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis is certainly not the best story for a movie, but it is okay. Baby Dil, however is very annoying. More-so in the later episodes of the show than this movie, because he constantly interrupts their adventures and makes every episode about baby-sitting Dil.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhile u0026quot;The Rugrats Movieu0026quot; is a decent film, it has flaws.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eItu0026#39;s starts the downfall of a once great cartoon show.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eLike in u0026quot;Pokémon: The First Movieu0026quot; this film tries a little bit too hard to be darker and more dramatic than the TV show itu0026#39;s based on.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eThere are WAY too many jokes about poop, pee and other such gross things. Iu0026#39;m fine with crude humor when itu0026#39;s in small doses (like on u0026quot;Rockou0026#39;s Modern Lifeu0026quot;), or when itu0026#39;s actually made funny (like on u0026quot;The Ren u0026amp; Stimpy Showu0026quot;). But this movie (and the later episodes of the show) just over-do it.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThere are good things too though.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eI loved the opening sequence of the film.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eThe animation is great, and perfect for the big screen.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eThe voice acting is top-notch.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eSome parts were really funny. Like when they spoofed u0026quot;Indiana Jonesu0026quot;.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eOverall this is a decent and mildly entertaining film. But itu0026#39;s certainly not one of the greatest animated movies ever. There are better movies of animated TV shows (u0026quot;The Simpsons Movieu0026quot;; u0026quot;The SpongeBob SquarePants Movieu0026quot;; u0026quot;Batman: Mask of the Phantasmu0026quot;), but there are also worse ones (u0026quot;Aqua Teen Hunger Force: Colon Film for Theatersu0026quot;; u0026quot;Pokémon: The First Movieu0026quot;). Funny, nicely animated, good voice acting, but a little bit too much potty jokes, and it added a horrible character to a great TV show.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eRating: 6/10 u0026quot;Decentu0026quot;”
