Futari: Directed by Nobuhiko Ôbayashi. With Hikari Ishida, Tomoko Nakajima, Toshinori Omi, Tomoka Shibayama. Follows two sisters, one clumsy and ignored, the other a perfect child. After the latter dies in an accident, she returns as a ghost to guide her little sister.

“Chizukou0026#39;s Younger Sister has always been one of my favourites from this director. Itu0026#39;s such a sad movie that deals with the loss of a close family member from the perspective of a younger sister and the parents. Chizukou0026#39;s song has been on my mind ever since I watched this movie 6 years ago, itu0026#39;s so beautiful.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAlso, soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi is both cute and melancholic and itu0026#39;s personally one my favourites from this composer. You can still find some of that wacky stuff from this director in a wonderful scene in which characters are watching the fireworks and thereu0026#39;s also a very funny racing scene.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAt 150 minutes it drags a bit sometimes though and I didnu0026#39;t care much for the subplot about the dad and the other woman in the last act of the movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eRewatched in memory of Nobuhiko Obayashi. Rest in peace my sweet prince. Sayonara.”
